HOT HATHA 26 & 2

Based on the Original Hot Yoga series, this class includes a set of 26 postures designed to get you fit and healthy, physically and mentally. The set sequence means you can easily measure your progress. The heat allows for a deeper stretch, increased circulation and blood flow to the muscles, creating a highly effective, full-body workout with a set sequence of postures practised at a slower pace, with focus on the breath, controlled movements and stretching. The set sequence means you know exactly what to expect each time you practise.

Hot yoga provides a great foundation. The postures are low impact, so can be done by students of all ages, and all levels of ability. You may not be able to do all the postures in your first class, but you will still feel the positive effects, even after your very first class. Better sleep, higher energy levels and an improved mood – these usually happen immediately. Improved strength, flexibility, balance and stamina will all develop with continued practice. Always the same, but always very different. You will work hard, sweat a lot and feel great! We recommend this class for all students, especially first-timers.

HOT FLOW

The Hot Flow classes give you the freedom to explore variations and modifications of all the postures, so your practice can grow and develop, along with your level of ability. It focuses on connecting the breath to your movements, which tend to be set at a faster pace.

We start slowly and low to the floor, gradually building the movement with steady momentum and breath while we build the intensity. Expect poses such as child’s pose, cat cow, downward dog, plank as well as lunges to work the lower body (hips and legs), core work (stomach), balancing postures (concentration and co-ordination), all whilst staying mindful of our breathing.

HOT SUNDAY Fusion

Moving at a slower pace than the Hot Flow class, this class starts low to the ground and builds slowly and steadily while incorporating long holds to give the body time to release and open. It is especially good for opening into tight hips and legs while learning to use the breath effectively.

This is a great class if you want to gently dip your toe into a hot yoga practice, if you have injuries or if you simply want a slower practice to complement your busy life.

NON-HEATED FLOW

Movement and breath are synchronised to create a flowing practice. The asanas are linked together in a way that makes sense physically, creating a moving meditation, where the body becomes strong and flexible, while the mind becomes focused and calm.

The pace of the flow can vary, with each teacher bringing their own unique expertise, experience and creativity to the classes.

Regardless of which class you choose, we encourage and teach all students to practise mindfully. Practising mindfully means knowing your limit (we encourage students to take breaks as needed), developing breath awareness to stay in control of your breathing. Breathing is the key to life, and while we breathe every second of our lives, most of the time we take the simple act of breathing for granted and don’t pay much attention to it.

Yoga is a mindful practice and more than anything develops mindfulness of the breath. The more you can slow your breathing down, the more all the other systems of your body can slow down, and this is the best thing you can possibly do for yourself. The world in which we live today moves so quickly – everything is instant, there’s not much time to slow down, to be mindful, to pause.
